Jessie M. Slade, 95, of Garrett, IN., formerly of Muncie died Fri., Aug. 17at DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn, IN.

Funeral services will be held Wed. Aug. 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Rev. Glenn Corbly will officiate. Interment will be at Stearns Cemetery in Fithian.

Mrs. Slade was born April 4, 1912 at Ellis, the daughter of Sam and Myrtle Watts Yates. She married George W. Slade on July 23, 1955 and he preceded her in death on April 12, 1989. She is survived by a daughter-Betty Wright of Brackettville, TX, a son-Ernest Loy of Tampa, FL, a sister-Minnie Gregory of Watseka, a brother-Harrison Yates of Rankin, ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a son, three brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Slade was a self-employed seamstress and was a member of Ellis United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nazarene Church at Fithian.
