Jessica A. Steerman, 63, of Champaign passed away at 9:25 p.m. on April 19, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel in Urbana. Pastor Thad Sweet will officiate. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded.

Jessica was born in Urbana on July 30, 1954 to parents Jerome J. and Merle J. (Gear) Steerman. They preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her sister Anne Steerman and sister in law, Linda.

She is survived by her siblings; Dr. Christine Steerman of New York, John Steerman of Florida, Jane Bergman (Kenneth) of Champaign, James Steerman of Washington, Joseph Steerman of Rantoul and Edward Steerman ( Lisa )of California.

Jessica went to St. Mary's Catholic School and was a graduate of Urbana High School. She was a Chef at the Illini Union for twenty years and was a member of The Vineyard Church.

Jess volunteered at The Vineyard Food Pantry and the Child Search Foundation. She was well known for her generosity. Jess was creative, whether by baking mouthwatering pastries, scrumptious meals or working on her arts and crafts. Anyone who was blessed to know Jessica will remember her sense of humor, feistiness and by how big her heart was, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
