Jesse M. Derossett, 60, passed away Sunday at Provena Covenant. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 30th, 11 am at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory with visitation on Wednesday evening, 5-8pm. Jesse was born September 9, 1950, son of James P. Derossett and Jessi M. Hardin-Derossett. Jesse married Kay Smith on October 22, 1994. She survives. He leaves behind one brother, Donald Derossett of Urbana; one sister, Dena Derossett-Wells of Rantoul; two daughters, Michelle Derossett-Trowbridge of Urbana and Angela Derossett of St. Joseph; a close friend and future son-in-law, Michael Gudgel of St. Joseph; three grandchildren, Cameron Pal of St. Joseph, Alyson Trowbridge of Urbana and Erik Pal of St. Joseph; his mother-in-law, Phyllis Eilers; a brother-in-law, Kevin (Heather) Smith; several nephews and nieces; two beloved pets, Otis and Ruger. He was proceeded in death by a sister, Bertha Pratt, a brother, William Derossett and his parents. Jesse was employed by G.A. Trucking. He was an active member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and guns. Memorial contributions should be made to the family to go towards funeral expenses.
