Jerry Phillips 72 of Urbana died at 1:56 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2007 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church 808 East Bradley Ave, Urbana; the Rev. Lundy Savage will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Champaign. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Phillips was born on February 24, 1935 in Trezevant, Tennessee, the son of Richard and Janie Adkisson Phillips.

Survivors include two brothers; Billy (Ruby) Phillips of Champaign and Andrew (Frances) Phillips of Trezevant, Tennessee, two sisters-in-laws; Irene Phillips of Urbana and Onterial Phillips of Champaign and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

Mr. Phillips was an Army veteran.

He retired as the warehouse manager for Pepsi-Cola.

Mr. Phillips loved fishing and yard work.
