Jeffrey L. Marshall, 55 of Urbana died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana. The Rev. Fr. Joseph Hogan will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana.

Mr. Marshall was born on October 27, 1953 in Mexico, Missouri, the son of H. Raymond and Shirley J. Carter Marshall. He married Marilyn Murphy on May 24, 2003 in Urbana, she survives.

Also surviving are his mother of Silver Springs, Maryland, one son; Jack Marshall of Mundelein and one daughter; Laura (Ryan) Balsewich of Chicago and one brother; Terry (Jayne) Marshall of Eagan, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother; Darren Marshall.

Mr. Marshall earned a Master's degree from both St. Francis University and the University of Illinois.

He was a teacher and band director at Judah Christian School in Champaign and Parkland College and a member of the Parkland Big Band.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana and various music associations.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and St. Patricks Catholic Church in Urbana.
