OBITUARY FOR JEFFREY IGAÑA
A beloved husband, father and grandfather, a dear cousin, uncle, brother, buddy, and friend Jeffrey Igaña's zest for life was obvious even till his last breath. Last year, he got infected by the Covid virus in a worst possible way, but he survived. He was on his road to a slow recovery when he relapsed a week ago. Jeff passed away on December 9, 2021 in Carle Foundation Hospital (Urbana, Illinois) surrounded by loved ones who will forever remember him for his loving, endearing ways.
Jeff was born on March 15, 1961 in Cebu City, Philippines as the eldest son of Ramon and Carmen Igaña. He has six other siblings: Jessica, Jacqueline, Zelda, Ramonilo, Connie and Monina. He completed his medical studies in the College of Medicine, South Western University in Cebu and practiced as an EENT doctor in MHARS General Hospital (Ozamis City) from 2001-2006.
Jeff met the love of his life, Raquel, and together they bore four kids – Kris Danielle (Kitty) who is now married to TJ with their son Elijah Glenn; Jeffrey Dominique (JeDo); Jeffrey Carmond; and Razelle Rio (Pinky). In 2006, Jeff and the kids followed Raquel to the US and built a home in Urbana, Illinois. He worked as an SPD technician for four years in St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur, Illinois.
Jeff loved the outdoors and bought an RV to chase his dream of random road trips, family camping and mountain-biking. On the side, he loved to whip up a mean paklay – an exotic Filipino dish – just to indulge the palate.
A visitation is scheduled on December 15, Wednesday from 9 to 11 AM and funeral service at 11 AM at Renner Wikoff Chapel, 1900 Philo Road, Urbana Illinois, 61802. Tel. No 217 367 1122. It will be open for public.
