URBANA, IL-  Jeffory S. Johnstone, 66, of Urbana, passed away at 9:30 PM, Sunday, July 2, 2023 at his home in Urbana.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview.  Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jeffory was born July 3, 1956 in Urbana, a son of James R. and Virginia Lee (Schmitz) Johnstone.  He married Diana M. (Taylor) Johnstone on August 12, 1978 in Champaign, and she survives.  Also surviving are two children, Bradley(Margaret) Johnstone of Urbana, and Lesley Johnstone of Urbana; two grandchildren, Daniel Johnstone, Ryker Johnstone, a brother, James Johnstone II of Urbana, and nieces and nephews.

Jeffory graduated from Urbana High School, and Parkland College and attended Eastern Illinois University.  He was a former Eagle Scout.  He retired from the U of I after 31 years of service and then he retired as Supervisor for Urbana Township.  Jeffory died of ALS after a 2 ½ year battle with the disease.
