Jefferson Liao—son, brother, friend, and talented soccer and chess player—died on Thursday, Nov 26, 2020 at his family home in Champaign, IL. He was 18 years old.

Jefferson was all time good and thoughtful child, excellent student, smile all the time. Jefferson practice Taekwondo, Chinese Kung-Fu and also very kind person. Jefferson was in gifted program at school, play violin, soccer, chess and had visited Taiwan to see his grandmothers, aunt, uncles and relatives many times. Jefferson enjoy travels.

As a young man with both good heart and an intense sense of compassion, Jefferson was also subject to depression, which he battled for several years. He ended his life on his 18th birthday. He is survived by his Father Shih-Chu Liao, Mother Chao-Wen Chen, and his older sister, Jane Liao.

We had decided to have simple funeral with private viewing. We did not announce in the newspaper. We had Jefferson cremated. May Jefferson rest without pain and in peace.
