Jean Catherine Baer 89, of Urbana died at 9:40 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Heartland Healthcare Center, Champaign.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana. The Rev. Fr. Jeffrey Scanlon will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with a rosary service at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Crystal Lake Memorial Park Cemetery, Crystal Lake.

Mrs. Baer was born on September 2, 1919 in Smithfield, Indiana, the daughter of Eugene and Elma Deckard Daniels. She married Harold George Baer in Bloomington, Indiana, he died in 1967.

Survivors include seven children; Constance (Gene) Osmond of Urbana, Tom (Marlene) Baer of Bloomington, Susan Bedell of Las Cruces, New Mexico, James (Donna) Baer of Crystal Lake, Timothy (Kerry) Baer of Indianapolis, Indiana, Mike Baer of Mattoon and Elisabeth (Chuck) Baer-Doughty of Evansville, Indiana, one sister; Ruth Narusis of Marion, twenty one grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother. Mrs. Baer liked to read and crochet.
