Jason A.
Facer
Aug 20, 1978 — Jul 4, 2016
Jason Andrew Facer was born at Carle Hospital in Urbana, Illinois on August 20, 1978 to Jeffrey and Carol Facer (Hall). He passed away, along with the mother of his children Jessie Facer, on July 4, 2016 in Mahomet, Illinois.
Jason had a passion for all things in his life. If he set his mind to it, he would most certainly accomplish it. At a young age, Jason discovered a love of snakes, jets, sharks, and tornadoes. He didn't just learn a little about them, he immersed himself in the topics and likely became the foremost expert for his age. This passion for learning continued and he found a love for baseball, weightlifting, Elvis, Vikings, and music. And ultimately, the greatest passion of his life was that of his two children Sean and Aislin whom he loved dearly with all his heart.
Jason had the unique ability to write. He understood the value of a handwritten letter. Letters from Jason were a work of art and oftentimes required a dictionary for interpretation. They even came with an official wax seal bearing the "F" for Facer. Certainly he is penning great prose in heaven with his Grandma Facer. With his love of writing came a passion for reading as well. Jason explored books of every topic and had quite of library of books which he valued greatly and each had been read at least once.
Jason's love of baseball knew no limits. The game was an art of statistics for him. His cousins and brother enjoyed fantasy leagues he put together. Many days were spent in his youth opening and sorting baseball cards at his dad's house with his uncles and cousins. His Grandpa Andrew and cousin Jerrett enjoyed a once in a lifetime cross country baseball trip seeing the game's greatest stadiums. Jason also loved the Cubs. He faithfully suffered through many a losing season. Maybe 2016 will be the year the Cubbies finally win the World Series. A fitting tribute to Jason's love of the game and the Cubs.
Jason loved his mom, dad, brother and sister. Jason loved to cook for his mom and prepared dishes worthy of fine restaurants for her. He enjoyed teasing her, protecting her, and loving her. Jason and his dad when together looked like a Mr. Olympia contest. They loved to work out together and share secrets of the weightlifting trade. They shared a love of fireworks and dazzled many with great firework shows. Jason and his brother Blake were as close as two brothers could be. Best of friends on every level with similar interests across the spectrum. A unique bond and understanding only they understood. Jason loved his little sister Lindsay in every way a big brother does. Always the strong protecting big brother, but never afraid to lovingly tease her. Jason cherished his relationship with her and the love they shared.
Jason shared his love of life and his passions with his two children. From teaching them how to hunt for snakes, to helping them understand the signs of a coming thunderstorm. Jason loved playing with his son Sean. Building all sorts of fun contraptions and inventions. Sean and Jason have a similar curiosity about life and loved to explore, discover and learn together. Aislin was Jason's princess who certainly had his heart. It wasn't hard for her to do. Simply smile at him, snuggle with him, or dress up in one of her favorite princess dresses for him. Jason was smitten by his beautiful daughter. Jason will be forever watching down over his two precious children and will be their forever protector.
Jason graduated from the University of Utah in the year 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication with a minor in Journalism. He worked at eBay and Zions Bank in Salt Lake City Utah. His greatest and most loved job was working at his dad's company, Area-Wide Technologies, for many years in Champaign, Illinois.
Jason leaves behind his two beloved children, Sean, age 8, and Aislin, age 4. He is survived by his mother Carol Andrew Hall (Randy), his dad Jeff Facer (Terri), his brother Blake Facer (Stacey), and his sister Lindsay Facer Hansen (Ryan) as well as his nieces (Brooke, Reese, Hadley) and Nephew (Jeffrey). He is survived by his Grandpa (Douglas Andrew). He is preceded in death by his Grandpa and Grandma (Chuck and Jane Facer), his Grandmother (Beverly Nickel), and Aunt and cousin (Gwen and Kendall Andrew) Funeral services will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday July 16th at 11:00 a.m. A viewing the night before Friday July 15th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Both the viewing and the funeral will take place at the Jenkins-Soffe Funeral home at 1007 W South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, UT 84095. Jason was a true patriot and firmly believed in the freedoms this great country provides.
