Obituary

Janice Rogers, age 77, of Tucker, GA, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017. She was preceded in death by parents, Olen and Sara Mackey; and her daughter, Deborah. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Don Rogers; daughter and son-in-law, Susan Roberts and Tony; grandson, Cameron Roberts and his significant other, Dana Sprinkle; a great granddaughter; three step grandchildren, Brent Roberts, Kristen Roberts, and Ryan Roberts; and three step great grandchildren.

Mrs. Rogers moved from Illinois to Georgia 32 years ago when a career opportunity was available to work with McMahan Shoes. After 22 years with McMahan, she and Don opened their own business, Star Shoes, Inc. in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Janice enjoyed Christian music, especially choral singing in a small church environment when she and Don were invited to White Oak Baptist where they have both been very active. Janice was a faithful soprano in the choir, often featured in special music presentations. Janice loved her family, her friends and her faith. This past Saturday her faith became sight! Her infectious smile would captivate everyone; if you were having a bad day, Janice could find something good in every situation.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Funeral Home, Snellville, GA. The Graveside Service to honor and celebrate the life of Janice Rogers will be held Friday, March 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM, Grandview Memorial Gardens, 4112 West Bloomington Road, Champaign, Illinois, 61822, with Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory handling services in Illinois. For those desiring to make Memorial Donations in lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in memory of Janice Rogers to White Oak Baptist Church, 1352 Martin Nash Road, Lilburn, GA, 30047 or The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Georgia Chapter, 2302 Parklake Drive, NE, Suite 210, Atlanta, GA, 30345.
