Obituary

Jane E. Lindbeck, of Urbana, died 1:15 p.m. Feb. 12 at Clark-Lindsey Village, Meadowbrook Health Center, after recuperating from a heart attack. Private services will be held. Jane was born on January 23, 1914, in Rockford, IL. She was a graduate of the Rockford Business School. She married Dr. Wendell A. Lindbeck, in Rockford, on September 3, 1938. They were married for 58 years and resided in DeKalb, IL for fifty-four years where her husband was professor and head of the Chemistry Dept. at Northern Illinois University. Jane served as Administrative Assistant to three Athletic Directors at DeKalb High School before retiring in 1980. She was three-times President of Women's Club and was recognized for her fifty-two years of service in 2003. Jane was an avid traveler, loved to sew and crochet, and was dedicated to her family and her community. She is preceded in death by her husband and a sister. She is survived by her three children, Wendelyn (Paul) Hugstad, of Irvine, CA, Joanne (Jim) Miller of Champaign, IL, and Richard Lindbeck of Westlake Village, CA, five grandchildren, Andrew, Marlo and Melissa Miller of Urbana/Champaign and Erik and Jon Hugstad of Irvine, CA, and two great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Clark Lindsey Village Library.
