Obituary

Mary "Jane" Facer passed away at 10:15 Friday October 22, 2010 at Carle Foundation Hospital with her family at her side. She was born on February 13, 1930 to Alice Miller Fouts and Charles Bernard Fouts in Danville, IL. She married Clarence E. Facer on August 31, 1952, in Indianapolis, IN.

Jane graduated with a degree in Journalism from the University of Illinois in 1952. She was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority at the U of I and remained active in the sorority for many years after graduation. Jane loved dancing, her social network of friends and spending time with her family.

Jane was an active volunteer in the Champaign-Urbana area for most of her life. Her service included over 10 years with the Covenant Hospital Hospice program where she provided in-home patient care, served on the newsletter committee as well as the advisory council. Jane also served as a room parent in the Thomas Paine grade school in Urbana and was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Women's Relief Society.

Jane is survived by her husband Clarence Facer, 4 children: Eric, Jeff, Thorpe and Andrew, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and Mojo, her dog. She was loved by her entire family and will be missed.

Visitation for Jane will be at the Renner-Wikoff Funeral home (1900 Philo Rd; Urbana, IL) on Monday October 25th, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (604 Windsor Rd; Champaign, IL) on Tuesday October 26th, at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to either the Covenant Hospital Hospice Program or the Champaign County Humane Society.
