James Stout, 41, passed away at 8:46 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at his residence.
To allow for more time to visit with Jamie's family the funeral will take place before the visitation.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory in Urbana. Pastor Gary Grogan of Stone Creek Church, Urbana will officiate. A visitation will be held after the funeral from 5:00-8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.Cremation Rites will be accorded and burial will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Eastlawn Burial Park in Urbana.
Jamie was born on November 28, 1974 in Champaign to parents Larry and Anna (Wilhite) Stout. On August 7, 1994 he married Robin Burnett in Urbana.
Jamie is survived by Robin, his beloved wife of 22 years and his soulmate and best friend for 26 years, his parents, Larry and Anna Stout, his brothers Ralph (Patti Scheibel) Stout of Chicago and Timothy (Cindy) Stout of Plainfield, IN. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Courtney, Evan, Tyler, Joel, Owen (Stout), and Alejandro, Christiana, and Enrique (Hernandez). Jamie was a 1992 graduate of Urbana High School and he earned an Associate's degree in Music and the Arts from Parkland College in 1996. He was a self-taught IT professional, who worked in the IT department of Wolfram Research, Inc. for 16 years. Jamie loved and enjoyed music. He was an accomplished musician who played multiple instruments including the cello and the electric and classical guitar. Also, in college he was a member of the University of Illinois Russian Folk Orchestra, in which he played the prima domra.
Jamie loved playing pool with friends and was a member of the APA Pool League and was active in many tournaments. One of his proudest achievements was qualifying for the 2012 National Pool Tournament in Las Vegas. He enjoyed long bike rides and walks, rollerblading, traveling, and especially swimming in the ocean. He also enjoyed attending NASCAR races with family and friends. Jamie was a loving uncle, who loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was also a dedicated animal lover who cherished his many pets.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Best Friends Animal Society, Champaign County Humane Society, Humane Society International, Born Free USA, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, American Bible Society, World Vision, Prison Fellowship, The Salvation Army, Wounded Warrior Project, and Covenant House.
