James R. Marett, 66, of Urbana passed away at 5:43 p.m. on June 15, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

He was born on April 27, 1959, in Urbana, IL the son of Herbert & Helen (Markstahler)Marett. He married Gayle Smith on August 18, 1984, in Champaign, IL.

James is survived by his wife-Gayle, Mother- Helen, sister- Theresa (David)Skonseng and several nieces & nephews.

He preceded by his grandparents, father- Herbert, sister-Carol Marett.

James worked in facilities for AMDOCS, in Champaign. He enjoyed sports and was an Illini fan. He was an avid dog lover.
