Obituary

James Vincent Hagan, 69 of Champaign died at 6:07 a.m. Wednesday, August 19 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Urbana with visitation one hour prior at the church, Father Joseph Hogan officiating. Cremation rites will take place after the services and burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Champaign, will be held at a later date.

Mr. Hagan was born in Urbana on June 15, 1940, the son of Thomas A. and Annah Faye (Greaber) Hagan, Sr. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Erv (Hagan) Goeppner of Normal, two nieces and four cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister and brother-in-law.

Mr. Hagan graduated from St. Bede's Academy, Peru in 1958. He also graduated from the University of Illinois and Worsham School of Mortuary Science in Chicago. He was a funeral director in the San Francisco, Calif. area for twenty two years. He is a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Urbana, past president of the Dugout Club at the U of I, avid Cubs fan and U of I baseball team, member of the Screen Actors Guild (AFTRA), Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers and was company manager for "Fiddler on the Roof", "Sound of Music", "Gypsy", "How to Succeed in Business Without Trying" and "Hair". Jim was loved by his family and related many stories to them. He will be missed by his family, "Godspeed, Jim". Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Bede's Academy, Peru, Illinois or the donor's choice.
