James Andrews Gray, 57, of Champaign passed away on Wednesday (Dec. 6, 2006).

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd.,U. Rev. Brian Rummery officiating, burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens, C. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Gray was born on Oct. 27, 1949 in Utica, N.Y. the son of Herbert J. Swartzman and Audrey R. Gray. He married Gail M. Anderson on Sept. 30, 1972 in Urbana, she survives.

Also surviving are his father and step-mother Herbert J. and Enid Swartzman of Pleasanton, TX, a daughter and son in-law Meghan M. and Christopher M. Drewes of Thomasboro, a sister, Janice L. Gray of Woodland Hills, CA, and one grandson Chase Cameron Drewes.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a grandson Cameron James Drewes.

Mr. Gray was the Supervisor of Graphic Services at the School of Chemical Sciences at the U of I, retiring in May 2002.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Empty Arms support group at Windsor Road Christian Church 2501 W. Windsor Rd., C.
