James H. Graham, 68, of Savoy, died at 3:50 a.m. Thursday February 5th at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 12th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S Philo Rd., Urbana, IL. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 13th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 2200 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Rev. Robert Rasmus will officiate. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Jim was born January 22, 1940 at Erie, Pennsylvania, a son of Rev. Clarence and Gwendolyn Fox Graham. He married Dorothy Derlak on April 2, 1960 at Chicago, IL. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters: Karyn Graham and partner, Sue Cook of Madison, WI, and Cheryl Millage and husband, Dennis of Bourbonnais, IL; Two grandchildren: Hannah Millage and Ana Graham Cook; Four brothers: Rev. David Graham of Sun City, AZ, Paul Graham and Tom Graham, both of Phoenix, AZ, and Daniel Graham of Lima, OH. Jim served in the United States Navy after high school and then received his bachelor's, master degree, and postgraduate work from the University of Illinois. He then became a Teacher, a Coach, and the Athletic Director for Urbana High School for 37 years. He was involved with barbershop singing in Florida and Illinois for 42+ years and was proud to be a member of the Illini Statesmen. Every February he could be found around town doing Singing Valentines with his quartet in Florida. He was twice voted into the Athletic Directors Hall of Fame as Outstanding Athletic Director of the Year. Even in retirement Jim was an active member of many associations; Kiwanis Club, Athletic Directors Association, American Legion, and Retired Teacher Association.
He loved his family, friends, country, and life - all of whom will miss him dearly.
