Obituary

James "Jim" Clark, 79, of Champaign passed away at 8:16 a.m., Monday, April 22, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home following the visitation at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, with Rev. Lyndall Propst officiating. Burial will be held at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.

Mr. Clark was born July 20, 1933 in Bethany, Illinois to parents Archie Mayfield Clark and Xenia (Robinson) Clark Morgan. He married Virginia Jones February 7, 1954 in Mattoon, Illinois; she survives.

Also surviving are daughters; Debra Mathis (Bob), of Peoria, Marla Wilson, of Champaign, grandsons; Jeremiah Wilson (Joy), of Chicago, J.R. Mathis, of Elmwood, and Andy Mathis, of Peoria. Jim was preceded in death by his father and grandson, Charlie Mathis.

After serving in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, Jim worked at International Harvester. Seventeen years later, he became the General Manager of Regal Motor Truck, where he retired in 1986.

Mr. Clark was an avid bowler and sports enthusiast. He was a particularly skilled "armchair coach."
