Irene Finley, 94, of Urbana, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Champaign Urbana Regional Rehab Center. Irene was born on August 15, 1918, in Germany to Joseph and Thea Livingston. She grew up in Germany and France. She moved to New York City in 1935 and married Ernest Finley on August 21, 1941. He passed away in 1973. From 1978 to 2001 Irene lived in Austin, Texas and moved to Urbana in 2001.

Surviving are her son, Robert (Sandra) Finley of Urbana, granddaughter, Jessica (Matthew) Thompson of Newport News, Virginia, and great grandchildren, Marisol, Graciella, and Charlotte Thompson of Newport News, Austin Greenlees of Tyler, Texas, and Virginia Greenlees of Dallas, Texas. Irene was preceded in death by a brother, Karl, and granddaughter Kristina Greenlees.

A celebration of life service is planned for Friday, May 3, 2013, 3:00 pm, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana Champaign, 307 W Green Street, Urbana. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana-Champaign or to the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, University of Illinois.
