Obituary

Inez L. Hegenbart 92, of Crown Point, Indiana formerly of Champaign went to be with the Lord peacefully at 1:00 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Chicagoland Christian Village, Crown Point.

She was born on June 1, 1916 in Cuba, IL to Effie and Dudley Stevenson and was married to Bill Hegenbart who preceded her in death.

Inez was the loving mother of Judy Williams of Champaign; Elly (Jim) Spurlock of Branson, MO; Connie (Art) Truesdale of Crown Point, IN and Gary (Carla) Hegenbart of Huntington Beach, CA. She was the cherished grandmother of 9; Billy Williams, Brenda (Rick) Kinkade, Larry Sawyer, Joe Spurlock, Kim (Steve) Wauro, Troy (Holly) Fiscus, Jennifer (Straty) Hadjiyannis, Krista Hegenbart and Sarah Hegenbart; great grandmother of 12; Heather, Derek, Shane, Kristen, Kevin, Zachary, Kera, Amelia, Karly, Kyle, Konnor, Paul; and great-great grandmother of Bohdi.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 South Philo Road, Urbana. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Frank Klobucar will officiate. Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.

Inez lived and worshipped at Chicagoland Christian Village and previously belonged to 1st United Methodist Church of Cuba and Stratford Park Bible Chapel of Champaign.

She was part of the Merry Maid Trio, a member of the Mother Singers and was very active at the Hayes Center in the Champaign Park District. She received an award from the Mayor of Champaign for "Outstanding Senior Citizen of the Year." She sang and danced through life, bringing "sunshine" to her family and other lives she touched.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations can be made in Inez' memory to Chicagoland Christian Village at 6685 East 117th Ave., Crown Point, Indiana 46307.
