Hubert T. Barber, 83 of Urbana, died at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Private funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2008 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana. The Rev. Derrick Ford will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. There will be no public visitation.

Mr. Barber was born on January 23, 1925, in Greybull, Wyoming, the son of Robert T. and Carrie Thomas Barber. He married Marjorie Barber on October 8, 1944 in Omak, Washington. She survives.

Also surviving are one son; Leon E. (Kathy) Barber of Urbana, three daughters; Carolyn (John) Hodel of Bakersfield, California, Gwendolyn (Robert) Clemmons of Irvine, California and Roberta (Chuck) Jones of Stillwater, Oklahoma, ten grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Mr. Barber was an accountant for World Gospel Missions in Marion, Indiana and Bell Industries, Indianapolis.

He loved gospel music.
