Howard E. Patterson 86 of Urbana died at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Center, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana; Rev. Jean Nanney officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Champaign. Military rites will be accorded. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Patterson was born on October 29, 1925 in Champaign, the son of Albert and Iva Houston Patterson. He married Doris Jean Dison on April 10, 1955 in Urbana; she died on March 11, 2009.

Survivors include two daughters; Donna (Mike) Krutsinger of Oakland and Cheryl (Wilson) Patterson of Savoy, two grandchildren; Josh (Amy) Wilson of Tuscola and Dane (Cassie) Wilson of Casey and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Mr. Patterson retired as a building service worker at the University of Illinois in 1982.

He was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.
