Howard Wayne Grob 87, of Champaign died at 3:35 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Illini Heritage Rehab Center, Champaign.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana with military rites conducted by

Mr. Grob was born on May 25, 1925 in Urbana, the son of Ansel Towsend and Olive Emma Kirby Grob. He married Gloria Ann Hicks on May 19, 1954 in Champaign, she survives.

Survivors include one daughter; Debra Lee Derebery of Lodge, South Carolina, one son, Russell Allen Grob of Champaign, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son; David Wayne Grob, one sister; Norma Williams, and four brothers; Harold, Delmer, Eugene and Warren.

Mr. Grob was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II serving in the Pacific Theater on the U.S.S. Saratoga.

He graduated from Urbana High School class of 1942.

Mr. Grob was a trucker driver for Stout Trucking, Universal Bleacher Company for 30 years and retired from the Champaign County Courthouse after ten years.

He was a member of the NRA.
