Hilda Morris Smith, 81 of Urbana died at 1:57 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2008 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview. The There will be no public viewing. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith was born on September 25, 1926 in Biloxi, MS, the daughter of Andrew and Viola Daniels Gazzo. She married Bert Morris on February 8, 1946 in Biloxi, MS; he died on September 23, 1967. She then married Russell S. Smith on August 8, 1970 in Danville; he died on July 26, 1992.

Survivors include two sons; Bert (Kathy) Morris of Huntsville, AL and Jack (Paula) Morris of Dallas, TX, one daughter; Ann (Andi) (Richard) Hedrick of Urbana, five grandchildren; Richard Hedrick and Rhianna Morris both of Urbana, Lindsey Alexander of Portland, OR, Brian Morris and Jennifer Oberle both of Huntsville, AL, and eight great grandchildren; Audrey & Aiden Oberle, Mason & Lillie Alexander, Camie & Cayne Morris, Austin Hedrick & Paige.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; Jack & John and one sister; Flora.

Mrs. Smith retired as an executive accountant with AAFES in Dallas, TX after 20 years.

She was a member of the Philo Road Church of Christ in Urbana. She enjoyed walking her dog and shopping.
