Harold "Dean" Meyers, age 84, of Urbana, died at 1:37 a.m. June 22, 2010, at home

Funeral services will be at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 2 with Rev. Kristi Lemley officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana with military rites by Champaign VFW Post 5520. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Meyers was born November 1, 1925 in Urbana, the son of Paul and Garnet (Price) Meyers. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Evelyn Meyers of Palmetto, Fla., a nephew, Dennis (Beverly) Meyers of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and Gerald and Lois Vogel of Champaign. He is preceded in death by parents, brother, Paul "Bill" Meyers and special friend, Edna M. Steiner.

Mr. Meyers graduated from Urbana High School in 1943. He enlisted in the Army and served during WWII in Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was employed by Felmley-Dickerson Construction Co. and assisted in the building of the Assembly Hall and construction of the Carle Foundation Hospital expansion project. He was a member of the Baptist Faith. Memorial contributions may be made to Carle Foundation Hospice Program.
