SAVOY, IL- Harold E. Graning, 81, of Savoy, passed away at 8:12 A.M., Monday, October 19, 2009 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Pastor Rick Bloom will officiate. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

Mr. Graning was born June 2, 1928 in Downs, Illinois, a son of Carl and Elsie Marie (Goodlick) Graning. He married Carol Wood on August 7, 1949 in Beecher City, IL. She survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Mary Lou Grawcock of Urbana, Carla Burr of Moore, OK, Debra Ebeling of Summerville, S.C., Donna Schennum of Woodstock, VA and Jill McDuffy of Urbana. Eight grandsons, two granddaughters, four great grandsons and four great granddaughters. Also surviving is a sister, Carolyn Reynolds of Downs, IL, and a half-sister, Connie Graning of Leroy, IL.

He was preceded in death by a brother and his parents.

Mr. Graning was a retired mechanic and self-employed truck driver. He was most recently employed at Super Wash in Champaign. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Champaign and the Owner Operator Independent Driver Association.
