Wayne Haines, 77, of Urbana, passed away at 11:57 p.m., Sunday (Sept. 26, 2010) at C-U Regional Rehab Center of Savoy after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Wayne was born Dec. 2, 1932 in Ficklin, IL, the son of Willard O. Haines and Vera L. (Frazier) Haines. He married Jane L. Morenz on June 10, 1956 in Sadorus, and she survives. Also surviving are a daughter; Cheryl L. Farruggia (Jerry), of Urbana, a son; Randy Haines (Cassie), of Urbana, grandchildren; Jeff M. Devore (Jessica), Kristi E. Haines, and Blaine R. Haines of Urbana, step-granchildren; Danny Farruggia, of Urbana, and Mike Farruggia, of Philo, and many nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren; Andrew Haines and Roxanne Devore.

Wayne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He graduated from Urbana High School in 1951. He enjoyed sports, especially watching his grandchildren play sports.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 701 E. Florida Ave., Urbana, IL 61801. The Rev. Terry Strom will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mayview, IL. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana.
