Grover "Lloyd" Oakley, 90, of Champaign died Monday (Oct. 25, 2010) at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Mr. Oakley's family will be hosting a reception in remembrance of Lloyd at the Urbana VFW Post 630, 1303 E. Main St., Urbana from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010.

Mr. Grover was born May 18, 1920, in Toledo, the son of Grover Cleveland Thomas and Edith (Gray) Oakley.

Survivors include his son; Alan Oakley of Urbana, grandsons; Matt Oakley of Champaign and Aron Oakley of Chicago, and granddaughter; Sara Morello-Witt of Champaign, and sister; Agatha Palven.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Holly Oakley and Harold Oakley, and sister; Maxine Scinto.

Mr. Oakley graduated from Toledo High School and worked for the University of Illinois for 25 years as a groundskeeper.
