Greg Hacker, 53, of Catlin, IL, passed away at 10:56 P.M., Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. A visitation will be held two hours prior (5-7 P.M.) at the funeral home.

Greg was born June 23, 1961 in Urbana, a son of Albert "Bert" Hacker and Joyce (Simpson) Deakin. Survivors include his father, Bert (Bobbe) Hacker of Sidney, his mother, Joyce Deakin of Mahomet, his two sons, Nathan Hacker of Catlin and Scott Wilson of Peoria Heights, a daughter, Krystle Wells of Hoopeston, seven grandchildren and a brother, David Hacker of Mahomet.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Gordon and his step-father, Tom Deakin.

Greg was a 1979 graduate of Urbana High School. He was a carpenter for Carpenters Local 44 in Champaign. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, having breakfast with his dad every Saturday and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
