Grace Evelyn Brahana, 92, of Urbana passed away at 2:40 a.m., Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Champaign County Nursing Home, Urbana. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, 210 W. Church St., Champaign. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Tom Corum will officiate.

Mrs. Brahana was born March 2, 1919 in Bowen, IL to parents Charles and Lois (Martin) Thompson. She married John Brahana May 16, 1942 in Champaign, IL. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2009. She is survived by her children; Mary Ann Graham (Don), of Champaign and Van Brahana (Rosemary), of Fayetteville, AK. Also surviving are sister; Ruth Shafer, of Fairbury, grandsons; Todd Brahana (Kara), of Menlo Park, CA, Dr. Eric Graham (Nicole), of Charleston, SC, Chad Graham (Meredith), of Urbana, Matthew Brahana (Sara), of Billings, MT, and great-grandchildren; Collin Brahana, Isabelle Brahana, Hudson Graham, Davis Graham, Elise Brahana, Oliver Graham, Phoebe Graham, and Ethan Brahana.

Mrs. Brahana was a bindery worker for Colwell Printing for 25 years, as well as a homemaker for her family. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church for more than 70 years.
