Goldie Hannah Barcus 96 of Urbana died 11:14 a.m. Sat. Dec. 2 at home. Graveside services will be Wed. 10:00 a.m. at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. The Rev. Tom Ander officiating. There will be no visitation. She was born in Urbana Aug. 31, 1910, the daughter of Marion and Mary Mitsbacher James. She married Chester Barcus on Feb. 17, 1929 in Urbana. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1967. Survivors include a son, Marion Barcus of Minocqua, WI, a daughter Virginia Silver of Urbana, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and a brother Art James of Homer. She is preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister. Mrs. Barcus attended Urbana schools, was a homemaker and farmed with her husband for 60 yrs. She was a member of the Church of Christ in St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph Church of Christ.
