Gloria Margaret Brunt, 74, of Champaign, died 6:42 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2007, at Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Funeral services and burial will be in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Brunt was born September 13, 1932 in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of George and Margaret Ford Freeman. She married Anderson Brunt in Columbus, Georgia. He preceded her in death in June, 1993. She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Brunt of Champaign, and Greta Morgan of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son, Anderson Brunt of Anniston, Alabama, sisters, Nell Hackett and Carolyn Ryder both of Columbus, Georgia, brother, William Freeman of Phoenix, Arizona, two grandchildren, three nieces one nephew and one great nephew. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. Mrs. Brunt graduated from Talladega College, Columbus, Georgia and received her masters in social work at the University of Pennsylvania. She was a teacher in the Columbus, Georgia public schools. She was a social worker for almost 20 years. She became assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
