URBANA, IL- Geraldine H. Reiss, 88, of Urbana, IL, passed away at 6:16 P.M., Monday, February 6, 2012 at the Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL, is in charge of arrangements.

Geraldine was born October 9, 1923, a daughter of Logan and Clara Hedrick. She married Harold L. Reiss on September 23, 1949 in Paxton, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 1978. Survivors include two sons, Bill Reiss of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Ken Reiss of Sidney, IL, and two daughters, Marsha Fenter of Urbana, IL, and Susan Patterson of Moraga, California, as well as 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother.

Geraldine graduated from Homer High School and worked as a teletypist for Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, IL for three years and a home healthcare provider for many years. She enjoyed singing and was a member of Sweet Adelines singing group in the 1960's. She had also served as a den mother for the Cub Scouts and was a member of the Philo Road Church of Christ in Urbana.
