Gerald A. Althaus, 68, of Savoy, died 12:33 p.m. Saturday, January 5 at The Carle Arbours in Savoy.

A Memorial Mass will be 10:00 a.m.Thursday, January 10 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Champaign. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Champaign. The Rev. Father Tom Royer will officiate. Arrangements are being handled by Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Road, Urbana.

Mr. Althaus was born August 26, 1939 in Urbana, the son of Herman and Mary Irvine Althaus. He is survived by his sons, Gregory D. (Demetria) Althaus of Champaign, Matthew J. (Michelle) Althaus of Mansfield and two grandchildren, Cole and Kobe Althaus. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Mr. Althaus was employed by University Of Illinois in the Water Sanitation Dept. He served in the National Guard and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Champaign. He enjoyed fishing, trains and walking. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
