URBANA,IL- George W. Rogers, 97, died on April 25, 2011, with his beloved and loving wife, Marjorie (Innes) at his side.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 29, 2011, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Post 5520, Champaign. There will be no visitation. Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL, is in charge of arrangements.

George was born to Albert & Carrie (Cork) Rogers in Chicago on November 10, 1913. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He met Marjorie Innes at a USO dance and they married on June 24, 1945. George worked hard to provide for his family throughout a long career with Alloy Engineering & Casting Company and WCIA TV. At home, George could fix absolutely anything: a toaster, a television, a car - anything.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Rogers, and his son, Barry Rogers (and wife, Joan); three grandchildren, Christopher (and wife, Lauren), Laura and Katherine; three great-grandchildren, Cameron, Avery and Callie Jo.

Following his retirement, George & Marjorie traveled extensively and enjoyed visiting countries all over the world.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or Carle Hospice.
