George A. Lambert 68, of Champaign died at 4:39 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2008 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana. The Rev. Tim Barber will officiate. There will be no visitation. Military services will be conducted by VFW Post #5520, Champaign.

Mr. Lambert was born on June 28, 1939 in Albion, the son of Clarence and Wilma Elliott Lambert. He married Mary Hales on June 30, 1973 in Newman; she died on April 17, 1994.

Survivors include his loving companion; Mikki Smith of Urbana, two sons; Jonathan Lambert of Armstrong and Gregory Lambert of Tomball, TX, three daughters; Julie Carroll of Magnolia, TX, Tammy Love of Tomball, TX and Amy Elam of Tuscola, one step-daughter; Tara Dalle of Homer, one brother; Jack Lambert of Oakwood, four sisters; Dorothy Shiley of Sidney, Judy Winkler of Columbia, SC, Susie Sheils of Wausau, WI and Kathy Lambert-Wood of San Diego, CA, ten grandchildren; Mary, Amanda, Cody, Misty, Kevin, Allison, Samantha, Emily, Bryce and Austin.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Lambert was a retired pipe fitter for local #149.

He was a U.S. Army Reserve Veteran and enjoyed wood working, hunting, fishing and being at the cabin.
