Gary V. Cox Sr. 71 of Mahomet formerly of Urbana died at 6:47 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana. Pastor Mark Smith will officiate. There will be no public visitation.

Gary was born on July 25, 1937 in Desoto, WI, to Forrest William and Ruby Inman Cox, the youngest of eight children.

He is survived by his wife Donna, his son Franklin Cox of Arizona, his daughter Cathy Redman of Bement and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia of 44 years, his son Gary Jr. age 45, two brothers and two sisters.

Gary was a member of Roofers Local 97 for 54 years.

He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed his grandkids. He always considered WI his home at heart and enjoyed returning there often to be with his family and friends
