Gale Gallagher of Urbana died Thursday, March 1, 2018 in her home.  She was 71.  She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Galen and Bernice (Wells) Hennigh and her sister, Phyllis Bowman.

She is survived by her husband, Hugh Gallagher, a son, Charles Flender, a grandson, Richard Flender, two sisters, Gloria Austin and Gerry Burdette, two brothers, Gene Hennigh and Gerald Hennigh and many adorable nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gallagher graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in accounting.  She was a CASA advocate for children for many years.  As well, she was a stewardess on the last commercial flight for Saigon in 1957, hours before it fell to North Vietnam.

Her wake will be at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd. on Thursday, March 8 from 6 to 9 p.m.  Memorials may be made to the Champaign County Humane Society.  Condolences may be offered at
