Francis Dilley, 85, of Urbana, died 3:00 P.M. Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday August 26, 2008 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana. Rev. Mike Mack will officiate. Burial will be at Locust Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 P.M. Monday night at the funeral home.

Francis Dilley was born June 20, 1923 in Philo, IL the son of Charles Fredrick and Carrie Marie Ems Dilley. He married Imogene Weddington August 4, 1945. She preceded him in death on February 4, 2000.

Survivors include three children Mike Dilley of Urbana, Lori Blacker of St. Joseph, and Dave Dilley of Urbana; two sisters Gladys Taylor of Urbana, and Alphretta Preston of Urbana; eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Francis Dilley graduated from Urbana High School in 1942 and immediately went into the US Navy. He served as an Electrician's Mate Second Class until 1945. Mr. Dilley then went to work for the U of I School of Life Science as an Instrument Technician. He was a member of the Living Word Church and a Mason. Francis loved to watch his grandchildren play baseball, football, and softball, he never missed a game.
