Frankie Lee Julian, 97, died Tuesday, August 4, 2026. He was born in Hartford City, Indiana on May 27, 1929, son of the late Helen H Arrasmith & Vernie E Julian. He grew up working on various farms with his family throughout Vermilion County, Illinois including Steak & Shake Acres in Rossville and Belk Farms near Fairmount. He graduated from Fairmount High School in 1948 and went to work for General Motors Tilton Foundry Division. He was drafted in 1951 and spent the next two years as a cook at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.

While home on leave Frankie met Lillie (Pete) L Swisher on a blind date. They were married on November 3, 1951. When Frankie left the Army, they moved into a house on Brewer Road outside of Danville and Frankie returned to General Motors. They had two daughters, Linda & Mary Kay. They had been married over 29 years when Pete died.

On August 2, 1980, Frankie married Marcia Misekow Landskroner and welcomed her three children, Cindy, Jeff, and Michael, into his life. Frankie retired in 1986 from GM where he ran the cobalt lab for 25 years. He and Marcia became full-time Florida residents in 1994 when they moved to Clermont, Florida. Marcia died in 2017. Frankie returned to the cold Midwest in 2021 to live at Brookdale Assisted Living in Urbana Illinois.

Surviving family includes a sister: Betty Lou Julian; children: Linda Williams & John Dorsey, Mary Kay & Joe Sungail, Cindy & Mark Rogers, Jeff & Beth Landskroner, Michael & Lynn Landskroner; grandchildren: Johnathan Sungail, Joseph Sungail, Bryce & Bethany Rogers, Hannah Rogers, Taylor Vandemeir, Christiana & William Zimmer, Molly & Colby Baker; and great grandchildren: Henry & Faith Rogers, Charlotte & Margo Baker.
