Obituary

Frank (Jerry) Sullivan, 94, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at home with family.

Mr. Sullivan was born on July 20, 1918 in Bloomington, the son of Frank and Irene Callahan Sullivan.

He married Aline Wolfe August 18, 1941 in St. Louis. They were blessed with a very long, happy and healthy 60 years of marriage. Mrs. Sullivan passed away November 4, 2001. Mr. Sullivan was also preceded in death by a sister.

Surviving are a son, Michael L. Sullivan of Mahomet and two grandchildren; Ashlee Kozak and Cody Sullivan both of Mahomet.

Mr. Sullivan, a WW II veteran, served in the Armed Services, July 7th, 1943 - April 22, 1946. As a Sergeant Battery D839 Anti-Aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion. Mr. Sullivan was stationed overseas in France, Belgium, Germany and Austria and was in charge of low flying hostile aircraft during WW II. His responsibilities included supervising technical employment of guns and oversight of tactical and mechanical training of soldiers.

Mr. Sullivan spent the rest of his work life, as management in local retail sales for the Barnett family. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed life to its fullest and loved spending time with family and friends.

Private family visitation will be held at Renner-Wikoff Chapel in Urbana and a military burial at Phillipe Cemetery, Mahomet. Monsignor Ramer of Our Lady of the Lake Mahomet will officiate.
