Frank "Chico" Merlo, our beloved father, 97, of Urbana died suddenly at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, October 19, 2017 with his family at his side.

Frank was born November 9, 1919 in Waukegan, IL, the only son of Tom and Josie Merlo. He was married to Wanda in 1954, owned Chico's Bar and Restaurant in Urbana and enjoyed raising and showing horses with his children for many years. Frank always enjoyed playing poker with the guys.

Survivors include his children, Tom Merlo and Cindi Adkins and a sister, Betsy Zulalian. Frank was preceded in death by his sisters, Jackie "Dolly" and Margaret and his parents, Tom and Josie.
