Francis J. " Frank" Davis of rural Champaign died on June 8, 2011 at Carle Hospital, Urbana, Illinois. He will be cremated and no services will be scheduled, other than a private family service.

Mr. Davis was born February 5, 1939 at Kinmundy, Illinois, a son of Glenn W. and Mary E. Davis.

Survivors include three brothers, George W. Davis of La Belle, Florida, John R. Davis of Effingham, Illinois, and Charles C. Davis of Effingham, Illinois, and four sisters, Ethel M. Wilson of Effingham, Illinois, Emma R. Peterson of Divernon, Illinois, Ruth A. Kramer of Sun City Center, Florida, and Sharon E. Craddock of Mahomet, Illinois. His parents and a sister, Mildred Sage, preceded him in death.

Mr. Davis graduated from Sacred Heart Grade School and Effingham High School in Effingham, Illinois. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Millikin University in 1964, and a Doctor of Law from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1971. He practiced law in Champaign County from 1971 to 2000, when he retired.

Mr. Davis served in the Army for the Assistant Chief of Staff, Intelligence at the Pentagon and in the Dominican Republic. He received several medals and commendations.
