Frances B. Hodson, 99, of Champaign, died at 4:25am Tuesday (September 20, 2011) at the Champaign County Nursing Home, Urbana, Illinois.

Frances was born on August 7, 1912, in Dalton City, Illinois to Rufus and Maggie Lambdin. Frances was married to John K. Hodson, Sr. on February 20, 1932 in Knox County Illinois. John preceded her in death on June 17, 1992.

Survivors include a son, John K. Hodson (Jan) of Laramie, Wyoming and a daughter Sherrill Vliet (Jim) of Thomasboro, Illinois. Also surviving are her 5 granddaughters Gretchen Clifton of Rantoul Illinois, Christa Branch of Laramie, Wyoming, Lori Smithling of Ortonville, Michigan, Melita McBride of Ogden, Utah, Becky Duffield of Flatville, Illinois and many great-grandchildren.

Frances worked at the Champaign County Assessor's office for many years until her retirement. She was known for her love of music- playing the piano and singing. She was active member of the Community United Church of Christ in Champaign for over 50 years as well as a member of the Urbana Women's club.

Funeral services will be held at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Road, Urbana, Illinois on Friday, September 23, 2011. Visitation will be from 10-11am with services at 11am. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana, Illinois.
