Frances M. Bantz, 84 of Urbana died at 1:45 P.M. Monday, September 11, 2006 at Carle Foundation Hospital Urbana, IL.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 16, 2006 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana, IL the Rev. Bradley Shumaker officiating. There will be no public visitation. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bantz was born on June 7, 1922 in Villa Grove, IL, the daughter of Ross and Leota Hanson Peabody. She married Leonard Bantz on February 23, 1945 in Urbana, IL, he died December 15, 1990.

Survivors include a son; James Ross Bantz of Tempe, Arizona and two daughters; Judy Serpetis and Linda Bantz both of Urbana, IL and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death her parents, husband and two brothers.

Mrs. Bantz attended the First United Methodist Church in Urbana, IL. She was an avid Illini fan and enjoyed cooking and gardening.
