Fay E. McConaha 96 of Champaign died at 1:12 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Heartland Healthcare Center, Champaign.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2009 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana. The Rev. Lutz Braunig will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 .m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. McConaha was born on January 17, 1912 in Charleston, the son of Anthony and Emma Warfel McConaha. He married Kate Shoulders on September 14, 1942 in Clayton, Missouri, she survives.

Also surviving are one son; Clifford McConaha of Rantoul, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, one grandson, one granddaughter, seven brothers and three sisters.

Mr. McConaha was a steel worker for Clifford & Jacobs in Champaign.

He was a former member of the Boilermakers Union. He loved gardening and his dog "Brownie"
