Everett "Dale" Nickelson, 72 of Champaign died at 12:05 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2007 at the VA Illiana Health Care Center, Danville, IL.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 26 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana with visitation at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Pastor Brian Romanowski will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.

Everett Dale Nickelson was born February 20, 1935 in St. Joseph, IL a son of Thomas and Pearle Smith Nickelson. He married Beverly Lourach.

He is survived by a daughter Tammy Nickelson of Rantoul, IL, a brother Cecil F. Nickelson of Urbana, IL, three sisters Norma H. Smith of Wheat Ridge, CO, Linda D. Smiley of Rock Island, IL, and Carol Welch of Mahomet, IL.

Mr. Nickelson graduated from St. Joseph High School. He served in the US Army from 1958 to 1960 and was stationed in Germany with Elvis Presley. He was a driver for Joliet 7-Up Company for 30 years and retired from White Line Trucking.

Mr. Nickelson was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Thomas E., James Owen, and William Glenn Nickelson.
