Evelyn M. Vaughn 82 of St. Joseph died at 4:08 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the home of her daughter.

A celebration of life service will be held from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana, with a eulogy given by Leonard May.

Evelyn was born on February 10, 1928 in Charleston, the daughter of Leonard and Lela Grace Orr Archer. She married Wayne (Goot) Vaughn on November 2, 1951 in Shawneetown; he died on April 17, 2005.

Survivors include one daughter; Joyce (David) McCabe of Champaign, one son; Greg (Debbie) Vaughn of Thomasboro, one sister; Doris Hamilton of St. Joseph, four grandchildren; BillyRay (Danice) Vaughn of Flatville, Mark (Brandi) McCabe of Laredo, Texas, Aarron (Pha) Vaughn of Champaign and Ryan McCabe of Champaign and one great grandson; Alex Vaughn of Flatville.

Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Evelyn worked for Magnavox for ten years.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Church of God in Knifley, Kentucky, St. Joseph Senior Citizens.

Evelyn loved her family, cooking, bowling and camping.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
