Eula Marvene Armstrong 95 of Urbana died at 10:50 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Grace United Methodist Church, Urbana; Rev. Mike Smith officiating. There will be no public visitation. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Armstrong was born on September 11, 1916 in Fairbury, the daughter of Virgil and Nita Farley Mundell. She married George W. (Red) Armstrong on November 10, 1940 in Fairbury; he died on June 10, 2011.
Survivors include two sons; Larry (Mary) Armstrong of Champaign, Mike (Lynn) Armstrong of Urbana, two daughters; Kay (Ron) Weidner of Urbana, Ann (Dave) Marriott of St. Joseph, ten grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Mrs. Armstrong worked for University High School, Urbana.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Urbana, the International Bell Association, American Legion Post 71 Auxiliary and the postal Auxiliary.
Mrs. Armstrong loved Florida, walking the beaches, the ocean, her salt water aquarium and the environment.
She loved flower gardening, especially Iris and Daylily.
Mrs. Armstrong was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader.
She loved her family very much and never said a negative word about anyone. She was an Illini Basketball fan and loved attending the sport activities of her grandkids and great grandkids including, cross country, track, basketball, softball, baseball and hockey. As recently as last month attending two hockey games and riding her three wheeler.
The family would like to thank her caregivers; Lucinda, Joyce and Betty who really cared.
